I haven’t had a chance to see the videos — they don’t get through my employer’s firewall — but thank you for bringing up this topic. If you don’t mind me providing a few more links that may be of interest to your readers….
One of the leading agencies working to develop an HIV vaccine is the HIV Vaccine Trials Network, a division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. They have 19 full trial units around the world, including 12 in the United States, and 9 other sites for a major investigational study (ongoing, but no longer accepting.) If you live near any of these sites, there are opportunities to help find a vaccine, either as a study participant (most of the current studies are looking for men or transwomen of any race or orientation who are between 18 and 55) or as a member of the unit’s Community Advisory Board (disclosure: I am on the CAB for the Seattle site.) The sites link above gives the contact information for the different units; feel free to contact them and learn what is available.
Also, April is STD Awareness Month in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control has a lot of informational material at this site, and maintains a list of sites that do HIV and other STD testing in areas around the US. If you do not know where to go to get tested, this is a very helpful resource.
