Motorcops Toy Run

I’m sure almost everyone I know within a hundred miles of me will be at Skepticon this weekend, and I hope everyone has a great time there. It usually is every year. I won’t be there because I’m staying home to work on other projects. But this Sunday, I will take a break and once again participate in something I’ve missed the last few years because I’m usually out of town. If you’re into this sort of thing, the MotorCops for Kids toy run is (I think) the best biker event in this area all year. Depending on the weather, there will be anywhere from 700 to 2,000 bikes involved.

Motorcops

I know there are very few of my readers who will care about this or be able to attend, but if you’re one of those few, come ride with me on Sunday. We’ll go from Dallas Harley Davidson (in Garland) north on Centerville to hwy 78 through Sachse and Wylie, and then south on 205 through Rockwall. We’ll cross Lake Ray Hubbard on 66 and park at the Hella Shrine temple in Rowlett. Bring New toys to donate, or at least $10.00 per person. The cool thing about this isn’t just that there will be two rows of motorcycles as far as you can see in both directions, (and a helluva bike show!) but also that we’ll go non-stop for 37 miles, ignoring traffic lights with a full-on police escort provided by all five cities. It’s a good ride.
